The Pages to the Three Kings were in Palma yesterday to confirm that Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar will be parading through the capital on 5th January.

Eberhard Grosske, Citizen Activity Councillor at Palma’s City Hall and a member of the reception committee for the Pages, said that in this year’s parade, there were going to be more floats and participants.

A festive train will be delivering presents to very young children who are prepared to give up their dummies, and the Kings will be travelling the same route as last year with Caspar riding a golden elephant.

He said that the parade will be even better this year with high quality floats and costumes. Children’s fairy stories will be a major theme with some dressed up as characters such as Little Red Riding Hood and Puss-in-Boots. Toni Socias, the parade’s artistic director said that five tonnes of sweets will be thrown from the floats to the watching crowds.

Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar will be arriving at 6pm at the Moll Vell in Palma Port on 5th January. From there, they will begin a journey which will last three hours before they arrive at City Hall.

The Kings will wave to the crowds below the balcony and will celebrate the occasion with a small party.
