A Marbella restaurant owner insists that smoking will continue in his restaurant until a judge orders him otherwise.
More cases are emerging where bars are refusing to enforce the Government’s new ant-smoking legislation.
The owner of a bar in Castellón is defending his private business and saying that if any of his customers are bothered by smoke he will make up a table for them on his terrace. He insists that it is either that or he will be ruined. Fernando Tegedor, the owner, has already received a denuncia from the police but he claims that 90% of his clients are smokers and that his takings fell by 80% on the first day of the new law.
A bar owner in Cáceres was attacked and needed 16 stiches when he tried to stop a customer from smoking.
