There used to be a notice on the walls in British Customs sheds that anyone finding the colorado beetle could claim a £5 reward for each one. (I believe they were extremely bad for the potato crops.) They looked like a ladybird, but had black and orange stripes, rather than red with black dots. We saw plagues of them in a country lane in Spain and stood on hundreds of them. We did have mercenary thoughts of bringing some home in matchboxes and making ourselves a fortune, but in the end, cowardice prevailed!
