Tuesday night was the fourth coldest night in 40 years in Mallorca when temperatures dropped to -0.3C in Lluc in the Tramuntana mountains. In Binissalem the temperature was -4.1C and in Campos -3.9C.
Even Palma didn’t escape with a temperature as low as -3.5C.
The polar front has gripped the country for six days and there is still a cold weather alert today with a forecast of -10C in some central and northern parts of the mainland.
