PostSubject: Menopause in Spain   Sun Dec 04, 2011 5:48 am

Now this might seem a silly subject but I wonder if the Menopause in Spain is any different to here in the UK.

At one time the Mediterranean diet was classed as the healthiest diet around and when the Spanish people stick to this natural diet they remain healthy (or so it is said).

Now in recent years I've found that the years have added problems as well as advantages. The problems appear to be the weight gain and the aches and pains. Also I have started having ocular migraines (never suffered with headaches or anything before) and I also have (so the doctor says) arthritis in my neck.

I feel that the working 12 hours over a computer each day may also having something to do with it!

Anyway back to the topic. I wonder if eating a natural Mediterranean diet would help with the inflammation and pain that goes along with this 'arthritis'. Also would this diet assist with the hot flushes and weight gain?

I realise that Spain has winters and rain but I would think that the milder weather may well help with the aches and pains. Or as my friend always tells me - it's all to do with the barometric pressure
