La Tomatina Fiesta, Buñol

Well today was La Tomatina at Buñol when the streets and the people are covered in red!

From 11 am the first horn sounds and crushed tomatoes are thrown at one another. For the next hour everyone falls around squashed tomatoes and the shopkeepers and home owners watch from behind their boarded up buildings.

On the sound of the second horn all the fighting has to stop and the Fire Brigade come in to hose down the streets and the people.

Crazy, mucky but exceedingly great fun
