Free open-air information points

WITH thousands of tourists strolling each day through the streets of Palma, the city council has set up three open-air information points in areas where visitors most congregate, the City Council confirmed yesterday.
The free service has been launched by the municipal Tourism Institute (Imtur) and is now located in Plaça Mayor, by the Cathedral and at Parce de la Mar. Silvia, an Imtur coordinator said yesterday that “these open-air information points act as a back-up to the work carried out by the Tourist Information offices.” The points are normally manned by students of Tourism or post-graduates and are already widely used by tourists of different nationalities.
