| Spaniards will drink 36 million bottles of cava over Christmas, 4% more than last year. The prediction comes from the Consejo Regulardor del Cava which notes that the drink is becoming more popular year round. A few years ago Christmas sales were half the yearly total, now they are just 39%. Sales to September this year were 10% higher than those seen in 2009.
